MaryAnn, your work is so beautiful! I especially love this piece. I'm a beginner at wire wrapping, but some day I hope to be half as good as you are.

new to wire wrapping jewellery

Hi Everyone
First l like to say all of your jewellery pieces are amazing and l hope to one day be able to make something half as beautiful as all of yours. Second as l said l'm new to this and really would like to know where l can find patterns or books to start me off. I don't want anything to advance yet.
Any help would be great.
thanks louloulemon2009@hotmail.com

Sea Glass

I'm looking for some sea glass to wrap. Would prefer medium to large pieces, but will consider all sizes, depending on the color. Would love to buy some red and amber sea glass, but will take any other colors as well.

It has been brought to my attention that a certain member is leaving coments on people's pages with links to possibly offensive sites. This member has now been banned from the site, although I'm fairly certain they've already joined with another account, as they've used the same photo on both profiles (clever). Any comments left by this member which are not related to jewellery making will result in this member also being blocked and an IP block being added to prevent them joinging again in futu…

I have never done this before and before I go out and purchase all the wrong supplies....Can anyone recomend a great book or dvd that would aid me in wrapping cut gemstones? A lot of the instructions I see online deal with cabachons or nugget style stones. Or if you aer a Raleigh, nc resident and know where there might be a class I could take to learn that would be great. I…

Tumbling gemstones with a mystic coating!

I've had a stone tumbler for years and when I discovered I could harden and polish my jewellery in it there was no stopping me..I love it, BUT just a word of warning; I was just about to tumble mystic topaz earrings when I remembered my labradorite necklace and how when I photographed it, the mystic quartz looked clear.

I got the necklace out and I'm glad I did. The mystic quartz appears to have lost its coating, it is there a little bit and I can't be completely certain as I only have one othe…

What Tools?

When I started wire wrapping I bought some cheap (£1.99) tools from a local craft shop. They haven't lasted too badly but the round nosed pliers are a little wobbly now after more than a year's good service.

I decided to buy some good quality tools and got a 'Pro quality' set from Beadsmith, not realy knowing where else to look. Unfortunately the wire cutters don't, the flat nosed pliers don't fit together snugly and the round nosed pliers snapped the first time I used them on 1mm wire!

Does a…
